National LGBTI Virtual Visitor Scheme

Organisation Logos

The National LGBTI Health Alliance in partnership with Nundah Activity Centre are running a national project called the LGBTI Virtual Visitor Scheme.

The aim of the project is to reduce isolation and connect LGBTI elders with an LGBTI Virtual Community Visitor via Skype.
There is no cost involved and we will:
  • Provide an android tablet device to the LGBTI elder (and provide ongoing technical support)
  • Set up the tablet device with a user-friendly screen.
  • Arrange internet access
  • Arrange a time that suits the elder to connect via Skype
The LGBTI elder can be in residential aged care, retirement village, their own home or any other type of accommodation. They can be receiving other services or no services.

At this stage we are looking to support 10 LGBTI elders across Australia.
