Going Upstream

Going Upstream: A Framework for Promoting the mental health of LGBTI people

A framework to guide the development and implementation of strategies for the promotion of mental health and wellbeing and prevention of mental health problems in LGBTI Australians. A core theme is the effects of deeply held prejudice and discrimination on the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTI people and the need for health policy to incorporate this understanding in the development and delivery of LGBTI-inclusive mental health promotion programs.

MindOUT Webinar: Sally Morris, LGBTI Champions: A Model for Service Improvement

In 2013-14 the National LGBTI Health Alliance undertook an LGBTI Champions Pilot project. The aim of the project was to improve the capacity of mainstream mental health and suicide prevention organisations to identify, respond and address the mental health and wellbeing needs of LGBTI people ensuring that services and programmes become more inclusive, culturally safe and accessible. This webinar presents key learning’s from the project and recommendations for the future.
