Thursday 19 July 2018

Following a national recruitment search, the National LGBTI Health Alliance is delighted to announce the appointment of Nicky Bath as the new Executive Director of the Alliance, with her appointment to commence on Wednesday 29 August 2018.

In announcing the appointment today, Chairperson Philippa Moss said the appointment of Ms Bath to the Executive Director’s position is a bold and exciting move and a decision the Board believes is the right one for the Alliance at this time in its history as we embark on a period of growth and development.

“Nicky is driven by passion and commitment to improving LGBTI health and well-being outcomes and human rights, and her appointment to the Alliance Executive Director role is a culmination of her skills and experience gained over a 20 year period working in Australia and internationally.

“Nicky demonstrates a strong commitment to community and the diversity and richness of LGBTI families and communities. She has a thorough understanding of government agencies, the health and community sectors and she brings a unique and insightful perspective to the Alliance”, said Ms Moss.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Bath said she is absolutely thrilled to be joining the Alliance and to have the opportunity to meet the needs of our communities at the national level.

“There is still much to do to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTI people and the Alliance has a strong platform from which we can continue to develop and progress this work.

“I am looking forward to working with the staff, Board and all of the Alliance’s diverse stakeholders to strengthen the Alliance’s position as the leader in LGBTI health across Australia”, Ms Bath said.

Ms Moss concluded by saying the Alliance Board is confident in Nicky’s ability to work with and support the diversity of the membership as we work in partnership to uphold the Alliance vision of a world where relationships, sexualities, bodies and genders are affirmed and valued in all their diversity.
