The Board of Governance (the Board) of the National LGBTI Health Alliance (the Alliance) the national peak health organisation in Australia for organisations and individuals that provide health-related programs, services and research focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people and other sexuality and gender diverse (LGBTI) people and communities, is pleased to announce a new and exciting structure for the organisation (shown below).

Philippa Moss, Chair said, “The Alliance has been through a process of great change to ensure that the organisation is as strong and robust as possible to lead at the national level on the issues that impact on our community’s health and wellbeing.”

The Alliance is best known for its work in ageing and aged care though the Silver Rainbow Program, suicide prevention though the mindout program and QLife the daily telephone and web-based counselling and support service. The Alliance has strong and meaningful partnerships with an array of program and services across Australia working together to deliver the programs.

New funding has recently been awarded to the Alliance to work with members in a codesign framework to improve the economic participation of LGBTI people with disability across LGBTI health. Key activities to June 30 2019 include a new strategic plan, a review of our constitution, a reinvigorated membership program as well as a new website that will better serve our members, communities and health and wellbeing sectors

“It is vital that the Alliance is strongly positioned with clear vision to be able to work in a coordinated way to improve our community’s health and drive down the ongoing health disparities. Our new structure is fit for purpose and takes the Alliance into its next phase building on everyone’s contributions to date.” Ms Moss concluded.
